Support this programKudil Mempadu — meaning "home improvement" in Tamil — is Valluvam's core housing support program. In the three remote villages we serve, many families live in homes that were damaged or destroyed during decades of conflict, or that were never properly built to begin with.
Through Kudil Mempadu, Valluvam provides direct material support — construction supplies, roofing materials, flooring — alongside community-organised labour and skills sharing, so that families can build and repair their homes with dignity and agency.
The program also encompasses a thrift store initiative where donated clothing, furniture, and household items are made available to families in need, and a case management service connecting adults with social services and resources.

Providing roofing materials, flooring, structural supports, and other construction essentials for families rebuilding or repairing their homes in all three villages.
Gently used clothing, furniture, and household items collected from the Canadian Tamil community are made available to families in Sri Lanka and locally to those in need.
